Events Coordinator
Events Coordinators plan, organise, promote and run events, conferences and functions for a variety of organisations, communities and groups.
What you would do:
- develop concepts for an event
- create plans and documentation for the event
- create a budget for the event
- find and organise event contractors, staff and volunteers
- book the venue or venues, and event equipment
- promote and market the event to media and relevant groups
- oversee the running of the event
- deal with enquiries about the event
- organise funding, sponsorship and ticketing for the event
You need to be:
- knowledgeable of the venues, contractors and suppliers used by the events industry
- knowledgeable of relevant health and safety requirements
- knowledgeable of the entertainment and hospitality industries
- a good communicator with people skills
- a good negotiator with public relations skills
- excellent at time management and organising
- a good decision maker
- skilled in managing finances and budgets
- creative, imaginative and innovative
- able to manage large projects
- able to work to strict deadlines
You will require:
- certificate III in Meetings and Events
Improve your chances by:
- taking tourism, media studies and business studies subjects
- completing year 11
What you will earn:
Salaries generally range from $45,000 to $56,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
